Dated: August 19, 2015

Microsoft has released a critical security update for Internet Explorer. The vulnerability could allow remote code execution if a user views a specially crafted webpage using Internet Explorer. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could gain the same user rights as the current user. Accounts that are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than those who operate with administrative user rights. The security update addresses the vulnerability by modifying how Internet Explorer handles objects in memory.

Affected Versions
– IE 7, 8, 9, 10, 11

NUST CSIRT encourage users and administrators to review Microsoft Security Bulletin [1], and apply necessary updates
